THOUGHTS ON THURSDAY
We believe the Trade War will end, perhaps as soon as Q1 of 2029.
That does not mean the trade environment goes back to the way it
was.
Manufacturers have learned that tariffs can change quickly. Supplier relationships can become
uneconomic overnight. Customers can demand new sourcing. Governments can turn a stable trade
relationship into a strategic dispute.
At the end of the day the question is not: When will tariffs go away?
It is: How much of our business depends on them staying away?
The manufacturers preparing for several possible futures will have an advantage over those waiting for
one particular future to return.
